Cool business Names Get You Noticed!

Finding A Cool firm Name may be much easier than you think! If you are looking for firm name suggestions, you have probably already searched the web for ideas, only to find that most of the suggestions do not apply to your particular business, or you have to pay some guy an arm and a leg for the privilege of trying to come up with one for you!

You can do it yourself! You just need a few tips to get you going. Brainstorming is a great way to start. Firstly, you'll want to find connected keywords for your cool firm name. Don't panic, there are tools on the internet that can help you with this.

Letterhead

The keyword selector tool allows you to type in a keyword, and it will return a list of connected keywords for that word. From this list, you will get keywords that you would never have plan of in a month of Sundays.

Copy and paste these words into a notepad or word document and then go back to the selector tool and crusade for an additional one connected word. Keep repeating this process until you have a long list of keywords with which to brainstorm.

The process of getting that cool firm name is now well on it's way. The next step is to make a shortlist of the keywords that take your fancy. Put a spin on some of the keywords that you have shortlisted. This could be done by spelling the words in a funky way. Eg. Instead of you, try u. Instead of extra, use xtra. Get the picture?

It's all about mental covering the box and mixing your words and ideas so you come up with a cool firm name that rocks!

The last thing you need to do is to run the names you have chosen by friends and family. These population will potentially be your time to come customers. Ask them to mull the names over for a few days and see which one 'stays' with them the most. Get everybody's views together, and the most beloved one will probably stand out by a mile.

It may take a few attempts, but what you need to remember is, if your firm is successful, the name you select will stay and grow with your firm for many years to come, so it needs to be the best it can be!

This is just one way of looking a cool firm name. There are many more, depending on your timescale and budget.

Writing business Letters - Tutorial 1: Letter Format

Everyone in firm needs to write letters. It's clear if you want to run your firm or just stay in touch with your suppliers and clients. How well ... Or not so well ... You write reflects on you and your business. Write poorly constructed letters with unprofessional layout and format and you will look like a rank amateur, no matter how good you are at plumbing, cooking or whatever it is you do.

If you are a seasoned letter writer who has completed a firm transportation course, this series of articles is probably not for you. It will help, however, if you haven't been educated in transportation skills. You will be able to enhance your writing very fast just by following a few easy rules.

Letterhead

Letter Format

The easiest, quickest and most efficient letter format is known as "full block" or plainly "Block". A block letter has all its text left justified ie, there are no indents. This method is very favorite because it is easy to produce. Here's an example using Australian address formats - modify it for your own country:

Ms Janette Jameison

Dear Ms Jameison

Contract With Acme Finance Corporation

I refer to our old correspondence requesting a copy of the compact between you and Acme Finance Corporation.

If you do not contribute us with a copy of the primary contract, I'm afraid we will not be able to act on your behalf. We need the compact to accurately collate the claims you have made and to interrogate legal staff from Acme Finance Corporation.

Please send us a copy of the compact at the earliest so we can get this matter under way.

Yours sincerely

Whether you use Letter or Iso A4 paper, this format looks good and saves time. Your paper needs to have a border all round of 2.5cm (1") and you should endeavour to place the total content of the letter so that it is symmetrical on the page ie, don't have more text in the top half of the page than on the bottom half. A balance of black and white and good position on the page makes the letter look good.

You'll see that there is no punctuation except within the body of the letter. This is called 'open punctuation' because the text is open where punctuation doesn't add significantly to the reader's understanding of the letter.

Using Letterheads

Some letterheads I see are poorly designed. While they look good from a graphics and colour perspective, the flow between logo and letters is poor eg, when you run your eye down the left column, there is no, or poor alignment between text and letterhead elements.

If you compose a letterhead page that is left or right justified, compose it so that the left most portion of the letterhead graphic or text is 2.5cm (1") in from the left or right sides. The best compose is one that is centered on the page. This is because it doesn't 'force' a right or left margin allowing users to set margins of any width that still appear balanced on the page. When you have a short letter you can bring your left and right margin in a miniature to make the text area look larger.

Tutorial two of this series discusses the parts of a letter.

The 5 Most Cost Effective Ways to Promote Your Small Business

The 5 Most Cost Effective Ways to Promote Your Small Business Tube. Duration : 2.32 Mins.

intuit.me Old school is still the best school when it comes to cost-effectively promoting a small business today. According to Chris Mahlmann, CEO of Ideas in Motion Media, the most lasting and effectual ways to advertise yourself and your business are inextricably linked to connecting and engaging with customers. "Being in small business really means being in the business of the simplest forms of communication," Mahlmann argues, cautioning upstart entrepreneurs to avoid feeling that they have to spend large sums of money to attract and retain customers. "As a small business owner, the greatest investment you can make is your time, not your money," he advises, taking aim at what he considers to be the erroneous notion that modern small businesses should employ the same large-scale, automated, and mostly impersonal advertising techniques employed by much larger companies. "The humblest ways are still the best ways," Mahlmann adds, suggesting that every email, phone call, and hand-shake with a single customer is equally as important and potentially effective as a newspaper ad or billboard display meant to reach thousands. In a recent interview with the Intuit Small Business Blog, Chris Mahlmann shared what he considers to be the five most cost-effective ways to promote one's small business.

Does Your Small business Need Digital Or Printed Letterhead?

A small business's letterhead is one of the most critical marketing pieces. A letterhead enables you to send your company's brand out on all of your communications with your clients and vendors. This not only gives you the opportunity to build up more recognition of your brand, but it also makes your business look established and credible.

But many small businesses don't wind up sending out a lot of printed communications--instead, they'll send out an email with their document attached. And if they do need to print up a piece to mail, it will often just mean printing a few documents over the procedure of a year. Which brings us to the inquire of whether it's authentically worth the cost for your business to invest in a stack of printed letterhead.

Letterhead

The disadvantages--and advantages--of print letterhead

One disadvantage of printed letterhead is the cost of getting it printed. Many original printers will begin to print with a minimum order of 500 pieces of letterhead. The price per-piece of letterhead will often be very high at this low of a quantity. It makes more sense from a pricing standpoint to print at least 1000 or 2000 pieces of letterhead.

Another disadvantage of printed letterhead is its' permanence. Once you've printed those thousand pieces of letterhead, you're stuck with them as they are. If you move or convert any of your other sense information, your letterhead immediately becomes outdated. The same goes if you convert your tagline or your logo--all of those high-priced printed pieces head directly to the recycling bin.

The advantages of print letterhead are that it often looks more expert than printing up a particular copy of a digital letterhead on your home printer. When you create a expertly printed letterhead, you can also have bleeds--where the ink goes all the way to the edge of the page--whereas on a digital letterhead, you have to leave space colse to the edges for your printer's margin allowance. Bleeding the ink off the edge looks more sophisticated.

The advantages and disadvantages of digital letterhead

A digital letterhead's biggest advantages come from the fact that it is a digital file. That makes it easy to convert sense data in a digital letterhead; you just make changes to the header image file and pop the new file into Word. A digital letterhead also doesn't have the added up-front production cost that printing corporeal copies of a letterhead has; so it's less expensive to create a digital letterhead. And with a digital letterhead, you can choose to whether print out the ended piece or you can create a Pdf of the document and attach it to an email. If you choose to attach the document to an email, then your document will get to its' destination more swiftly than it would by mail. Plus, it's more eco-friendly to send a digital file than to use a piece of paper.

The biggest disadvantage of digital letterhead is that it is digital--and if you're printing it out, it will look like a digital letterhead. Clients will be able to tell that you've printed the letterhead on your home printer (though, if you invest in a nice printer and some high-quality paper, this can be less obvious). And, as mentioned before, you'll have to compose the letterhead to take the margins of your home printer into account. If you're planning to email the document out, you may want to make the margins pretty large so that the recipient's printer won't cut off your sense data when they print out your document.

The other disadvantage is that if you're emailing a Pdf to man who's not technologically savvy or who is having computer problems, it can be difficult or even impossible for them to get the document to open. This doesn't happen often, but when it does, it can be frustrating for the recipient.

With all of these advantages and disadvantages, how do you conclude which route is the accurate path for your business to take? Do you need a printed letterhead, a digital letterhead, or possibly both?

How to outline out which form of letterhead you need

1. conclude how you plan to use your letterhead. Common uses for letterhead include:
Writing personalized letters and other correspondence Direct mail and letters of introduction Invoicing (though if you use an invoicing agenda such as Quickbooks, you'll just need to insert a digital copy of your logo or a digital page header into the template invoice design) Creating estimates and proposals Formatting contracts and other client intake materials (such as questionnaires or forms) Reprinting your articles Creating speech handouts Submitting orders to vendors

Think about how many of these uses (and any others you can think of) apply to how you run your business.

2. conclude if you're more likely to send a corporeal mail piece or an email. Matching your letterhead format to your business preferences can help to streamline your business. For example, it may help to speed up your client acquisition process to have a digital letterhead for your contracts. Or, you may get paid faster if you have a digital invoice, since clients won't have to wait to receive their bill in the mail. But if you give talks frequently, you may want to get printed letterhead created so that your handouts will look fabulous.

3. Think about which format your clients would prefer to receive your communications in. The easy step of inspecting your clients' transportation preferences can help you to create a better--and smoother--client relationship. If you're catering to eco-friendly businesses, they will appreciate the discount in paper that digital correspondence brings.

4. Weigh this data along with the advantages and disadvantages of each type of document as listed above. For example, if you know you'll be intelligent soon, then creating a digital letterhead may be the way to go so that you can convert your address when the time comes. But, if having every piece of transportation that comes from your business look as expert as inherent is prominent to your business's success, then reconsider creating a printed letterhead so you'll make the best inherent impression.

Knowing the advantages and disadvantages of printed and digital letterheads, and then going straight through the process of evaluating what you need in your business can help to make sure that you get the right kind of letterhead designed to serve your business's needs.
